Thursday Challenge—"glass"

This is the 103-year-old, 43-meter-high
dome that caps the Galeries Lafayette,
in Paris.  That's a lot of glass!

Thursday Challenge—"clothes"

When I was in Paris in July, I went to
Galleries Lafayette to see what they were
giving away in the biannual sale.  If
these leftovers from Valentino's winter 2015
collection were on sale, I would sure be
curious to know what the original prices were!

Blue Monday

In Paris, window dressing is high art—and

I imagine you have to work your
way up to the ones at Galeries Lafayette.
Last September, they were devoted
to Diane von Furstenberg, in tribute to the
40th anniversary of her always-flattering wrap dress.

Christmas is coming

Here's a little reminder (though you probably
didn't need one) that the holidays will
be here before you know it.  This huge tree
was the centerpiece of the Christmas décor at the
Galeries Lafayette, in Paris, last year.
The dome is gorgeous year-round, but especially
when it's washed with color for the season.

ABC Wednesday—H is for "hair"

Looks like this lady was at Galeries Lafayette last
November for the same reason I was—to
take pictures of their newly installed Christmas
décor.  But I was also fascinated by her 'do
and wanted to ask all about it (but didn't, oh well).

ET sunset

On the one really sunny afternoon we had in Paris
last month, we made a beeline for the rooftop terrace
of the Galeries Lafayette to catch the sun
setting behind the Eiffel Tower and the Grand Palais.
I think it was well worth braving the
cold up there for this view!

Paris shadows

I'm just back from a wonderful week
in my fave city with two very special people
(and fellow bloggers). One of them will
recognize herself—and her shadow—
in this shot
taken on the roof of Galeries Lafayette.
