Blue Monday

This "club" of pétanque (i.e., boules) players is
hidden away in the 15th arrondissement
in Paris.  Thanks to my wonderful friend and
traveling companion Genie
(who does the blog Paris and Beyond)
for introducing me to this place.

The men and women who play here have
obviously been part of the club for
many years—there's so much warmth and

camaraderie on display,  yet
they take the game very seriously.
I learned a lot while I was watching them.

a special street

It's in Paris, near the Place de la Bastille—and filled
with colorful houses, some with trompe-l'oeil effects.
I was taken there by my dear friend Genie,
who does the great Paris blog Paris and Beyond.
Merci, Genie!

As you probably guessed, the kitty
has a victim in his sights—and
in my version of the story, the little
bird gets away every time.

Paris shadows

I'm just back from a wonderful week
in my fave city with two very special people
(and fellow bloggers). One of them will
recognize herself—and her shadow—
in this shot
taken on the roof of Galeries Lafayette.

The Weekend in Black and White

Et voilà!  I'll give you two guesses where
I landed today (and the 2nd one doesn't count).

I'll get to spend some quality time with

Virginia, of Paris Through My Lens, and Genie,
whose blog is Paris and Beyond—two 'Bama gals
who are here now too. They both blog beautifully
about the city all three of us adore and take
me there through their posts every day.  I'm
so excited that we're all here at the same time!
