Weekend Reflections

The Mutual of America building, on

Park Avenue, was built around
1960, but reclad in 1995 to make this
postmodern version of an Art Deco skyscraper.
I like what they did with the place.

  1. I like the reflected orange of the General Electric Building at 570 Lexington and the way it is surrounded by that cobalt blue.

I couldn’t find a view of the pre-1995 MOA building (was it ITT then?) but I found a view from 1954 that James Dean could have glimpsed (looking off to the left down Park Avenue, same location as your photo, on the right).
