Hard to choose a photo for this one, because with so much blooming right now the whole city looks beautiful—including the traffic median that runs down the middle of Park Avenue. [To see more of the Thursday Photo Challenge, visit Dale's meme.]
Beautiful, yes, but I was going to add that I felt it to be incongruously surreal, then realized I know nothing about the Park Avenue median. So now I know a little: pre-1922 with a pedestrian-friendly park; 1935, meh; housing, which might have the residents getting sustainable recycled ‘fresh” air; look what this did for the English economy. The natural beauty of tulips is no more incongruous than womanmade forms, methinks now.
At first I saw the bottom part of the photo and thought this was in Holland, then read your explanation and saw the taxis – New York! How splendid to have tulips there.
