inSPIREd Sunday

This is St. Thomas Episcopal Church,
and I was pretty much the only
person in here on a recent Friday evening.
That's most likely because everyone else
was down the street at St. Patrick's Cathedral.
(However, they probably get a few butts in the seats

when its world-famous boys' choir is singing.)

  1. It is interesting how modern artificial lighting and that high-relief sculpture can make huge stained-glass windows seem redundant. Speaking of becoming redundant: the beauty of the men and boys choir voices becomes poignant when one realizes how ephemeral those soprano voices can be. Yet, sadly, it was not always so.

  2. Breathtaking!! I will go into here the next time in NYC!!

  3. Lovely! Thank you so much for sharing all the interesting sights in New York City.

  4. I'd like to have my butt in one of those seats. Tom The Backroads Traveller

  5. Been to St. Pat's but not St. Thomas! What an exquisite interior!

  6. Wow! I'd love to hang around there a while and take in the beauty.

  7. Welcome Alexa!
The stained glass is beautiful ...
