ABC Wednesday—N is for "Nutella"

Good American that I am (well . . . )
I still prefer peanut butter.  But I do know
some folks for whom this might not

be a several-lifetimes supply.
(Speaking of Americans, I hope you got your
taxes done and are expecting a big, fat refund.)

  1. Recently there was a couple in France who wanted to name their baby girl Nutella. Judge refused. I'm not a big Nutella fan; prefer a really good peanut butter spread on a slab of equally good chocolate...

  5. The chap who invented Nutella, Michele Ferrero, died recently. It used to be called a "hazelnut chocolate spread", but it is now called "Hazelnut spread with cocoa" (in the UK). Nutella Day is February 5th.

  6. In France, a couple wanted to name their daughter Nutella, but a judge ruled that they could not do that. He ordered her to be named Ella. The baby was born in September, but what if she'd been born on February 5th?

  7. A little Nutella goes a long way with me. I think I prefer plain old peanut butter. Good choice for N.

  8. I have to say that I prefer peanut butter over Nutella also. Fun pic!

  9. My favorite use for Nutella? a small amount added to a rich Swiss buttercream, to be used as the filling for pistachio macarons! I have many, many recipes for Nutella - the easiest: spread Nutella on refrigerator rolls; roll and cut into one inch pieces; put sideways in a pan (sweet roll style); bake and then drizzle powdered sugar icing over the top - miam-miam!

  10. I found you at ABC. In reference to your final comment: I am American, and we had to pay the government this year. So it's peanut butter with no frills, LOL. Actually, I am not a fan of Nutella. It was popular with my neighbors when I lived in Bermuda, but I just never got the taste for it. My favorite is almond butter! Amy

  11. I've never tasted Nutella, although I do have a jar of it in the food cupboard.
This was purchased for the grandchildren when they stay, Unfortunately I
forgot about it last time they were here....I best check the 'use by date', and maybe
I will have to eat it!

    best wishes,
    Di,

  14. I'm a peanut paste girl, but maybe that's only because I haven't yet succumbed to buying a jar of Nutella ! I've come close several times but still can't get my head around spreadable chocolate.
