Shadow Shot Sunday

It's rare on a weekend—even late in the
day—when you can take a shot of this bridge in
the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden at the
Brooklyn Botanic with not another person in sight.

  1. I love the way the shadow is not just shadow but almost a photographic negative of the railing to the left with light and dark reversals, especially the cutouts.

Looks like a torii gate up there in red on the left.

They do like their bridges don’t they? But nice bridges are not always kept to glorious-looking parks like we can see with your photo here. Even in the heart of Tokyo one can sometimes find the rare bridge with artistic merit such as this one here. Along the same channelized river there are these: o, o, o, o, o, o, o, o, o, o, o, o, o, Each “o” is a separate quickly downloadable photo link. You need not click any of them. (There are 140 bridges on this river and less than a couple dozen are really worthy. And none of them can hold a candle to your beauty above.)
