Thursday Challenge—"style"

Here's a "style" of dress that's apparently still popular
(I caught all of these guys with my phone in the subway).
Clockwise from top left: This guy got it sort of right by wearing
plaid boxers; this one absolutely did not; I guess black underwear
is acceptable (??); this young man at least has a pair of pants
on underneath the ones he chose to leave at half mast.
Seriously? (I still don't understand it and probably never will,
but I guess these photos are evidence of my fascination.)

  1. Reminds me of a sketch on Saturday Night Live years ago where Dan Aykroyd played a refrigerator repairman who did a lot of "bending over" while he did the repairs.

  2. It's truly strange and weird! If only we knew someone who could give the straight answer to this fashion quirk! I even saw some fellows like this in Venice, and I believe they were not tourists.

  3. I've read last month that "a central Alabama judge ordered a man to serve three days in jail for contempt of court for wearing so-called saggy pants."

  4. I must say that I don't understand this style :) It looks silly like they don't have time to pull up pants !

  9. It was a constant battle when I worked in the assistant principals office in middle school to get the boys to pull up their pants. I see nothing appealling to the eye. I like my man in well fitted jeans and boots.
I have to crack up laughing when you see the boys walking almost bow legged to keep their pants from falling down further. Please explain how that can be comfortable.
