let's get outta here!

Given the name of this blog, chosen before I really knew what it would be,
I"ve decided I should take you someplace else altogether every Friday (at least).
So guess where this is. It's McCall, Idaho.  Never understood why they call this part
of the U.S. "God's country" until I went there. Oh, right. Now I get it.
BTW, won't be here tomorrow, because like this fellow, I'll be up a creek w/o the
Internet. Unlike Eric (and Bibi and practically everyone else), I have no idea how
to post ahead (duh). Have a great weekend, mes amis. See you Sunday.

  1. Makes me feel like meandering around the lake, pausing now and again to close my eyes and breathe deeply the varying synesthetic fragrances. "The sound of those evergreens smells so good, all butterscotchy with the sunlight dappling the velvet-textured shade rubbing softly across my shins."

On second glance, residence here looks less than auspicious after a long drought and then during a lightning storm a la Northern California of late.

Wishing you the best of times on your own sojourn.

  2. OMG Alexa! The beauty of it all! Now that is indeed my kind of heaven. As a kid, every Memorial Day holiday we would go to northern Wisconsin and rent a cabin on the lake and do what I do best...sleep...erh,I mean "fish." It was idyllic and the memories of that time flood my brain whenever I see photos like this one. Cool Friday idea. Although, it's never a good idea to fall asleep in a canoe...but that's another story. ;-) Have a great weekend!

  3. Nice description "butterscotchy with the sunlight dappling" Tall Gary. Can you dig it? ...I knew you could. [I knew you'd get that last reference]

  4. Alexa, when you compose your new post in it's white editable box, take a look at the box frame. The words "Post Options" should be on the lower left in blue. Click on that, and the frame should expand to include the date in one white box on the lower right, and the time in a white box next to it. Both of those are editable. Replace the date with the date you want the post to appear, and edit the time in the same way. When you're ready to post your completed post, hit "Publish". I know it seems like it will shoot straight to the blog as usual, but if you have changed the date to a future one before you "publish" it will instead take you to the list of posts with the word "scheduled" in orange. It will post itself on the day you designated.

You can always edit or delete the post, by clicking on those words on the listing.

    I hope that helps.

  5. Oops! Sorry about typing "it's" instead of "its". I see these things too.
