Thursday Challenge—"signs"

I had a hard time choosing a shot for this
challenge.  I pondered big Times Square signs,
friendly Ecuadorian signs in Spanish and English,
traffic signs, and Paris Metro signs.  In the end, I chose
this one—a little reminder that when you get back to this
dock after your day on the fishing boat and you use the
dockside tables to clean your catch, you should put
your fish guts where they belong!  My dad taught me
this lesson (and how to clean a fish) when I was 8 years old.

The Weekend in Black and White

Gone fishin'!
This guy was getting some competition
from the osprey family that nests next to this
dock.  The male goes out several times
a day—and his wife and kids are very well fed!

gone fishin'

Most of the fishermen on the Coney Island pier
were at least 25 years older than this little
guy. But he looked so intense; I was rooting
for him to snag the catch of the day.

let's get outta here!

Given the name of this blog, chosen before I really knew what it would be,
I"ve decided I should take you someplace else altogether every Friday (at least).
So guess where this is. It's McCall, Idaho.  Never understood why they call this part
of the U.S. "God's country" until I went there. Oh, right. Now I get it.
BTW, won't be here tomorrow, because like this fellow, I'll be up a creek w/o the
Internet. Unlike Eric (and Bibi and practically everyone else), I have no idea how
to post ahead (duh). Have a great weekend, mes amis. See you Sunday.
