No, no, no!

I'll go zip-lining above a 100-foot-deep
chasm in the South American cloud
forest and I'll ride the hairiest roller coaster
you can find.  But I will not roll around
Rome on one of these.  (Just being a
pedestrian is tough enough!)

Paris, 5 a.m.

Even when there's no traffic (clearly, the
"city that never sleeps" is the
one I currently live in, not the one
I just left), you still
  have to stop
at all those red lights.

rush hour

This is  typical Friday afternoon traffic on
the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway—once again
I am not at all sorry to be a pedestrian.
And I'm also glad I don't have to limit my view of

that glorious sunset to a rear-view mirror!

ABC Wednesday—T is for "traffic"

And also for Thanksgiving, of course.  If you're going
somewhere this holiday weekend, I hope you
don't get stuck in a mess like this!  I also hope you
have lots to be thankful for—I know I do.

The Weekend in Black and White

More fun with the iPhone. This is
Grand Army Plaza, in Brooklyn, very near
to where I live.  It used to be one of the most
dangerous intersections in the city (or so I read),
but they've reconfigured and built islands and
created bike paths—and getting across here is
a whole new experience—one I expect to survive.

Skywatch Friday

Yet another reason why I'm not sorry that I don't drive!
Would much rather be walking across the Brooklyn Bridge,
looking at this sunset (and Lady Liberty out in the harbor)
while those poor folks down there inch their way along.
