Weekend Reflections

Chez E. Dehillerin, Paris purveyors of
all the things you need for cooking
—or didn't know you needed until you
walked into this wonderful store
and now you'll need an extra suitcase
to get it all home.  There were some serious
shoppers in this place!

Shadow Shot Sunday

Took this shot a few days ago on 7th Street
down in the East Village.  I love all the
independent shops in this neighborhood but,
unfortunately, it looks  like this one is soon to close.

'tis the season

. . . because nothing says Christmas
like feathers and sequins, right?

It's Ruby Tuesday—to see

who shops here?

There are stores like this one all over
midtown and I always wonder
who buys this stuff. Oh, wait—maybe
that's why they're going out of business.
(Except that these places are always "going
out of business" but somehow never do.)

Shadow Shot Sunday

I almost wish I had a reason to wear
something like this (seen here in
one of Lord and Taylor's holiday
windows). On the other hand,
there's a lot to be said for pure comfort
 What's your preference?

Welcome to Macy's

. . . ALL decked out for the season. They
must spend so much on the Thanksgiving
Parade, then on all this inside and out.
And yet, definitely not the most expensive
store in town. Still, I've certainly plunked
down a few bucks here over the years.
So what's your fave place to shop?

I could drop some bucks here

If I had it to spend, I wouldn't head
for Tiffany or Saks Fifth Avenue.
I'd go here to B and H, the huge camera
(and more!) store at 9th Ave. and 34th St.
Just got their catalog in the mail and
it's about the size of my Yellow Pages.

window shopping

or not.   Because I just have to say:  I really really
DON'T want it.  At all.  Any part of it.  No, no, no!
Show your arms?  Hey, who do I look like?
 Michele Obama?
On the other hand . . . those big red sexy exclamation
points are pretty darned compelling.
So maybe if they say it one more time . . .
