The Weekend in Black and White

iPhones and iPads and laptops—oh my!
The Apple store in Grand Central Terminal
has been doing a brisk business lately.
(Although, honestly, it can look pretty much this
crowded on any given weekday of the year.)

Mellow Yellow Monday

Went by Apple's flagship Fifth Avenue store
so I could show you the very touching
makeshift memorial for Steve Jobs. I love the messages
(in many different languages) on the post-it notes.

And the vendor who has the fruit
cart around the corner says he's
been selling a lot of apples.

New York at Night (6)

This is one of Apple's three stores in
Manhattan—the one downtown in Chelsea.
 Wonder how many iPads
they've sold since Apple came out
with their latest toy last weekend?
To find out, see here.
Can't afford it myself, but then again,
I don't have an iPhone or even a
Blackberry (and don't feel lost without
either—go figure).

Photo Hunter — "technology"

Here at NYC's main Apple store on 5th
Avenue they've set up a table for the pre-K
customers—who look right at home with the
newest Mac, don't they? Just hope they didn't
ask Santa for an iPhone. Hey, kids, FAO Schwartz
is right next door!

Skywatch Friday

Been spending WAY too much time
at the Apple store on 5th Ave. Took
this when I went to pick up my laptop,
which was getting its 3rd new hard drive!
It's a cool place though, and I love the
"glass" staircase.

back in business

I hope. Went to the flagship Apple store on 5th Ave.
(where you can buy, learn, or fix anything Mac) this
morning and wound up being there for 3 hours.
Gotta say—those kids really are geniuses, and they
went above and beyond for me today.

As a bonus, on the way out I stopped on the
glass staircase and saw a building with a
pointy-topped doo-dad on top for Shell.
