ABC Wednesday—D is for "drone"

This one was launched in Battery Park, by a
kid who looked to be about 10!
What's going to happen when everyone
has one of these, I wonder?

  1. I like the contrast between the blur and sharp edges. And those red spots really add visual interest. Looks like a DJI Phantom 4, which actually all seem to be white.

This TED Talk (11:36) was interesting. It got quite good at the end, I thought.

What will happen in the future? I think, overall, it is unforeseeable. Let’s wish for the best.

    1. I am not sure if everyone will have one, but one thing that is foreseeable is that all of everyone’s present and past movements will be under surveillance and recorded by drones. The possibility, if not reality, exists now as seen here for 4 minutes and 52 seconds after the YouTube video starts.

  2. Hmmm technical progress comes with good and bad things... Some of those things frighten me, must admit to that... a persons privacy is easily harmed with these things... let alone the danger they pose to other sky-users...

good choice for this weeks letter though...

    Have a nice ABC-W-Day / – week

  3. We have only seen the tip of the iceberg with drones. We will also see increasing regulation. Great shot of this one.

  5. Noise and traffic above our heads. I suppose drones will become popular like cell phones. ;-)
