good—and good for you

They're low in calories, carbs, and sugar,
and have no fat or cholesterol but tons of fiber.
Is this the perfect food?  Well, maybe if
you paired them with dark chocolate and ate

that while reading Shakespeare's sonnets
on the banks of the Ganges.
(food for the body, senses, mind, and soul)

  2. When I consider all the things that grow
    With perfective delectability
Your raspberries surely deserve a bow
Their flavor such a burst of quality

This could but be the perfect food you say.
They’re low in calories, carbs and sugar.
Paired with dark chocolate where’d be the dismay?
No cholesterol and tons of fiber.

But dismayed I’d be for there’s the spirit,
    A need beyond body corporeal.
What’s that you mention? A Shakespeare sonnet
    Read near the Ganges immemorial?

That will surely do it. Pass me a bowl:
Food for the body, senses, mind, and soul.

    1. Coincidence: As I read this, I'm also listening to an interview with our newest poet laureate—who I'm thinking now maybe should have been you!

  4. I shall have to settle for two out of three ! But raspberries and a good book and any scenery at all anywhere would be a fine combination.

  6. Or if you paired them with Hugh. That would really make them sing. Gorgeous pic, dear Alexa.
