ABC Wednesday—J is for "jawbreakers"

I loved these when I was a kid—
back when I wasn't afraid of breaking
my teeth (or of what all that sugar
would do to them) and didn't think about
what nasty chemicals might possibly be used
to create those neon-bright colors!

  1. Me too! Jawbreakers! I got mine in a place like this which was close to my elementary school (both gone now, shop and school, as it was). I liked how the jawbreakers changed colors as you continued sucking on them, except toward the end, when they became crunchable, they were all white. I thought it was ironic that when I reached an age when I could buy all the sweets I could carry I started to avoid sugar like the plague.

Did you find these at Ame Ame?

  4. Did not care for these as a kid, but they make a stunning photo. Let's call it eye candy.

  5. Appropiate word: Jawbreakers! I remember that I didn't like them when I was a child. However, they are very colourful!
    Have a great week.
