The Weekend in Black and White

Looking up at this canopy of palms, I could
almost believe I'm in some lush tropical
place—and not a few short blocks from home
(and indoors) at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

    I love greenhouses. With the recent temperatures in NYC a greenhouse would be an ideal spot to thaw fingers and toes.

    I wish I could get such a natural view as you have shown us but the only time I can get a view approximating yours is when I shade my eyes from the sun with a coat sleeve.

    Most of the greenhouses around here open in the spring and though I lived in NYC for 16 years I never had the opportunity to visit the Brklyn Botanical Gardens. Lovely photo.
