It's not very often (if ever) that you have a pair of penguins waddling around your office—but that's exactly what happened yesterday when Pete and Penny came to visit from Sea World. Seriously—made my day!
They might be Magellanic Penguins younger than 10-years of age. (By ten their feet are usually all black).
At first I thought they were curious or looking for some kind of vending machine, such as this maybe; but they are not native to Antarctica, rather Argentina and Chile. Although that far south it would be chilly enough for me.
They were there at the invitation of Family Circle magazine (our "neighbor"), not entirely tame but very used to people, and TG called it—they're from Chile. They kept coming over to me and at first I felt a bit special—then I remembered the unfinished shrimp-salad sandwich sitting on my desk!
Wow! Lucky you...would love to know "why" they came.

ReplyDeleteOh, aren't they adorable?!! Why were they visiting? How old are they?
ReplyDeleteJust read back and answered my questions!
ReplyDeleteYou could still say they were irresistibly drawn to you... sandwich or no sandwich. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhich one is Pete and which one is Penny?
ReplyDeleteWhy did the pen-guin? Because he saw the polar bare.
Every office should have a pair. Laughed at the idea of your shrimp salad sitting on the desk.
