These are some of the well-fed kitties that roam all over the lovely village of Vernazza, in Italy's Cinque Terre. In fact, I don't know if these cats are still there. Eleven months ago, Vernazza was all but destroyed by a massive landslide. Fortunately, the town is now almost completely restored (see longtime Vernazza-lover Rick Steve's report) and I hope the kitty population is once again thriving too. I'm going to imagine the kitties all made it just fine, Alexa ~ I'd rather do that and stay in my happy place. ;) They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly do look well-fed. Animals sometimes sense earthquakes ahead of time, so maybe they headed for a safer place.
ReplyDeletekitties tend to be survivors!

You're all absolutely right, and I'm currently in Shell's happy place thinking positive thoughts about Vernazza's well-cared-for cat population and their 9 (make that 8 now) lives.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Shell and Bibi, that they sensed it beforehand and went to a safe place. They have beautiful markings.
