Skywatch Friday

Here's a clear blue sky in—you guessed it—
Virginia.  That's where my mom is from, and today is
her 91st birthday.  I have an indelible memory of
crossing the Shenandoah River in the family station
wagon, and my mother singing that song in
her beautiful clear soprano voice.
Happy B-day, Mother!

  1. Reminds me of an old song:

    Oh Shenandoah,
    I long to see you,
    Away you rolling river
    Oh Shenandoah,
    I long to see you,
    Away, I'm bound away
    'cross the wide Missouri

  3. Wow! 91! Happy birthday Alexa's Mom!
It seems like yesterday when you last wished your Mom happy birthday. It's hard to believe a year has passed.
How sweet the memories of your ride & your Mom's singing...
