the red, white, and blue

Happy 4th of July from small-town
America—in this case, Piermont, New York.
It's only +/- 21 miles up the Hudson
from New York City, but
what a difference 21 miles makes!
Enjoy your holiday.

The Weekend in Black and White

The year I took this shot, a little (!) fog
was not going to deter these folks (or me)
from getting to the beach for some
Fourth of July fun. If you're celebrating
today, I hope you have sunshine!

Skywatch Friday

The 4th of July is one of those times
when I feel lucky to be in NYC.
(As long as I'm willing to brave the crowds),
I get to enjoy some seriously awesome fireworks.
To all of you who are celebrating today,
I hope you're having a festive Fourth!

The bombs bursting in air

Whether you celebrated quietly—or like this—
I hope you had a good Fourth of July. And I hope
you're one of the lucky ones who are getting
to take a 4-day weekend.  If so, enjoy!

That's My World

And wasn't my world spectacular last night?
Had to have some fireworks for the 4th, so I
braved the crowds and went to watch the
skies light up over the Hudson River.

(Not easy, but totally worth it!)

Happy 4th!

Well, you know what's inscribed on that tablet!
So Lady Liberty seems fitting for today's post
(besides, I have no fireworks to show you).
