I'd love to go back in time to see what this looked like when it was first built—but I wouldn't want to witness the "games" that were played there (or participate in them!). How about you?

I am ultra-fascinated with the workings of the coliseum....I think (what's the guy's name who makes those books on how things work, cathedral, etc.) made one about the coliseum and I was taken with its intricacies. Would love a time machine. And your photos is really breath-taking in the meantime!!
Not sure I would want to go back in time, when I read history books in detail about people treated each other. I'd rather stick in my own time where I feel safe.
I had a very odd feeling while there; I was very much at home in those walls.
