Shadow Shot Sunday

No one lives on Governors Island at the moment;
you get there by (free) ferry from Manhattan or
Brooklyn.  It used to be a military base—for the army
from 1783 to 1966, then the Coast Guard until 1996.
Some of these charming places (formerly officers' homes,
I believe) currently house shops and art galleries.

[To see more Sunday shadows, go here.

  1. It makes me just want to sit in that rocker and relax.

  2. Wow, your photo really sets the mood for a relaxing afternoon!

  3. Rocking chairs and nice porches are made for each other.

Thanks, merci, grazie, danke, hvala, gracias, spasibo, shukran, dhanyavaad, salamat, arigato, and muito obrigado for your much-appreciated comments.
