The Weekend in Black and White

Spent the weekend recently at my brother
and sister-in-law's comfy house on the
north fork of Long Island.  Woke up,
saw this, and had to go grab my camera.

  1. Makes me want to put a soundtrack to it.

    And substitute these lyrics…
♩♫ What’s that bright lick of light
that sent away the darkest night?
    Shaft!
    Ya damn right!

What are those bands that can chase away the sandman’s sands?
    Shaft!
    Can you dig it?

What’s that light that first comes out,
When the night is all but doubt?
    Shaft!
Right on! (Right there on the wall!)

That Alexa’s shaft is a bad mother...
    Shut your door!
    That’s where it is. Shaft!
Then we can’t knock it. (Or can we?)

    There’s some stunning shadow slants,
Alexa’s photograph has me on a rant,
    Light shaft! ♬♪
