Shadow Shot Sunday

No one lives on Governors Island at the moment;
you get there by (free) ferry from Manhattan or
Brooklyn.  It used to be a military base—for the army
from 1783 to 1966, then the Coast Guard until 1996.
Some of these charming places (formerly officers' homes,
I believe) currently house shops and art galleries.

[To see more Sunday shadows, go here.
