Peering through the doors of St. Bart's church to Park Avenue beyond. From peaceful and quiet inside to bustling and noisy out there, the difference is like night and day. Also linking back to inSPIREd Sunday.] |

au nom de la rose
This flower shop in the Marais features roses and more roses, all beautifully and inventively displayed. And yet the thing I chose to focus on here was this old door. If it were yours, would you paint it or leave it as is? [Linking back to Ruby Tuesday and Our World Tuesday.] |

Unlock this door and enter the 17th-century church of Saint-Joseph-des-Carmes, in Paris. (Marie de Medicis laid the cornerstone in 1613.) Next time, maybe I'll be able to go inside, see chapel altars by Bernini, and visit the crypt to see the heads of priests killed there during the French Revolution. [To see more churches from around the world, go here.] |

photo Hunter — "broken"
Was leaving my building to go to work
one day, and I got here to the front
door about 20 seconds after it just kind of
spontaneously . . . exploded!
I'd like to thank my own good timing and
whoever invented tempered glass!
