In Times Square

I actually took this picture a couple of days
before Christmas, at (believe it or not) 2 o'clock
in the afternoon.  There's no rain predicted
for tonight—that's good news for the estimated
1 million (!) people who will be gathering here.
I will most definitely not be joining that crowd,
but I wish them—and you—a very Happy New Year!

Yes, I've posted similar shots on this blog—but
perhaps not always while the plane was still in
motion.  I'd like to think that this shot is a metaphor
for the year ahead: here's to moving forward.

Happy New Year from the Big Apple!  No Times Square, 
but here's the one building that says "New York" more 
than any other.  All the best to my wonderful
 blog pals—those I've met, those I've yet to meet, 
and everyone who passes by here.
Hope that 2011 is a wonderful year for us all!

2009

But only for another 24 hours. By this

time tomorrow, this ball will have just

dropped, the numbers for the new year

will be all lit up—and probably the

crazy crowd down below in Times

Square will be too (but in a different

way)! They can do whatever they want—

I'm nowhere near the insanity.

No Times Square for me

I'm getting on a plane at o' dark-thirty

and heading several states away from

the place!  BTW, that's the Verrazano

Narrows Bridge down there.

I may be Internet-less while I'm away,

so I'll just put up some things I like

(and hope you do too).
