is one of the domes of the
basilica San Marco.  Would love to
see what's inside those domes,
but not in the summer—it must be very
hot under all that lead.

My colleague at work just spent a week in Italy, 
including several days in Venice. 
To say I'm envious would be putting it mildly—but
still, I sure hope she enjoyed this beautiful sight.

in Venice (and I believe the only
one that retains its 13th-century mosaics).

Thursday Challenge — "golden"

I was meant to be paying attention to the
 mass in the Basilica San Marco, in Venice.
But my eyes kept wandering, especially to the
incredible gilded ceiling.  Did wait to take
 this shot though (and btw, the flash and all
the sounds on my camera are turned off).
