"Transitional Object (PsychoBarn)"

That's the title of this art installation currently
on the roof of the Met.  The artist,
Cornelia Parker, got her inspiration partly
from the house in the movie Psycho—and like
that movie-set one, this is also unfinished on two sides.

  1. Made me think of showers. “Art and showers” made me think of a “contemporary” work from the 60s that an art teacher mentioned. At an exhibition there was the sound of a shower: water flowing, draining; scrubbing, washing. Through a shower curtain movement could be seen: a woman taking a shower. An exhibit guest pulled the shower curtain a little bit aside to take a peak and was dazzled by the flickering light coming from a film projector. The image through and beyond the curtain was actually being projected onto the curtain. There was no more reality than that.

Kind of like the reality here.

    1. “Hey. Maybe this is some kind of happening and there really is a woman taking a shower. Think I’ll take a peek. Ow! My eyes!”

  4. I have not seen the movie Psycho but that barn looks gorgeous (it doesn't give me any frightening vibes).
