"There is a rose in Spanish Harlem"

This huge crocheted flower (yes, I know it's not
a
rose; actually it looks like a hibiscus to me)
decorates a fence at P.S. 72 in East Harlem
—not really called Spanish Harlem anymore, but

sometimes referred to as El Barrio.

  4. Definitely a hibiscus. Five petals, and that stamen.

    This version made me smile.

OK. So she once went to PS 72 and her name was Rose and maybe she had not exactly a chip on her shoulder...
