abc wednesday — I is for "I'm how old?"

My Dad took this picture a loooong time ago.  I'm having
kind of a big birthday today.  I won't give away the number,
but suffice it to say that I mostly feel closer to this than
the number I've actually arrived at.  I'm sure a lot
of you know exactly what I'm talking about!

(And somehow I still have those cheeks—go figure!)

photo Hunter — "free"

I have a hard time deciding what to
post here when the choice is all ours. Finally
settled on this shot of Machu Picchu taken
from the top of Huayna Picchu.
I "borrowed" it from my daughter Lila, whose
birthday is today. (She and her sister
were here a couple of weeks ago.)

Für Katie ...

... my "baby," who was playing Für Elise when I took this
photo.  Today is her 28th birthday—though I can't imagine
how THAT happened in what seems like so much less than
28 years.  I mean, c'mon, I remember when she was born
like it was yesterday!

Happy Birthday

This is my friend Barbara, who's celebrating her 50th
and listening to one of the editors at our magazine
read a (very funny) list of "50 reasons why we love Barbara."
This started with my daughter Katie, who wrote a
list of "21 reasons why I love Lila" for her sister's
21st birthday. I suggested Barb do one for her sister
on her 55th (and then my colleague Lisa did the same
for her sister's recent 60th birthday).
My mom will be 89 in a few months—what do you think?
