Monday Mellow Yellows

This past weekend was the Sakura Matsuri
cherry-blossom festival at the local
botanic garden.  Every year they put out
these Smiley Face chairs for
kids, and adults usually appropriate them.
(They either bought new chairs this
year or painted shades on all the old ones.)

Sakura Matsuri*

*The Brooklyn Botanic Garden's annual
cherry blossom festival, that is—which
took place last Saturday.  Some people come
in costume to be in the proper party spirit. 

And some get seriously into character.

Stylin'

These girls were all dolled up for the
Cherry Blossom Festival at the
Brooklyn Botanic Garden last weekend—
although I think the kids who dress 
in Harajuku style like this do it every day.

year at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

The trees weren't yet in full bloom this past

weekend, but the weather was good

and lots of people came out to enjoy the

ambience and the entertainment.
