ABC Wednesday—S is for "skyline"

. . . and I think I can brag that ours
 is one of the world's best!
I took this shot of midtown Manhattan
 (with a looong lens) from a friend's
terrace in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.

Iconic

The NYC skyline is always evolving,
but the Empire State Building still takes
pride of place in this view (one I
never tire of on my morning commute).

Skywatch Friday

I was walking over the Brooklyn Bridge a week ago,
and kept looking back at lower Manhattan as
the sky became more and more dramatic.
When I got to the other side, I had to rush to
the Brooklyn Promenade to capture this spectacular
sunset in time.  But it was worth the effort, I think.

Skyline Sunset

Yesterday a sunrise, today a sunset—
I'm back in Manhattan, where I can
enjoy this fabulous sight (if I go to
visit my friends who live on the 32nd
floor and have 360° views of the city).

I'm enjoying a bucolic few days in
the Virginia countryside, with lovely
mountain views.  But if you were to ask
me to show you my favorite view—
well, here it is: the lower Manhattan
skyline seen from across the 
East River in Brooklyn Heights.

I took this shot a while ago, and there's since been
something added to this Lower Manhattan
skyline—you can just see the cranes in place as
construction was starting.  Do you know what it is?
