Monday Mural

Welcome to the wilds of . . . Brooklyn.
This is one of a series of jungle
murals that I found on Flatbush Avenue.

Kings Theater

This theater, On Flatbush Avenue in the heart
of Brooklyn, opened in 1929 and was
closed in 1977.  Finally, after the completion this
year of a $95 million restoration of the original design
along with 21st-century technical improvements,
we have a wonderful new venue for live entertainment.
SO glad they opted to renovate rather than demolish.
(I was there with my girls to see the
So You Think You Can Dance live touring show—
anyone else addicted to SYTYCD?)

ABC Wednesday—N is for "neighbors"

Just hanging out on Flatbush Avenue:
There are some elements of this building that remind

me of Paris.  (The guy with the gun, I mean umbrella, not so much.)
Like most of the neighborhoods here in Brooklyn, this one
is
slowly but surely—and for better or worse—becoming gentrified.

The Weekend in Black and White

I was on my way home when I spotted this
photo op of light and dark clouds off in
the distance—and just kept walking out of
my way until I found a likely spot to take a
shot of them. (I think it was worth the detour.)
