The Weekend in Black and White

As it turned out, I didn't get to see a whole
lot of polar bears when I was up
in the Arctic—and the ones I did see were
pretty much a speck on the horizon,
even with a 600mm lens (well, you can't get
close to them anyway
, unless your ship is
equipped to deal with pack ice and you get lucky).
However, this big guy was there to greet
us when we got to the airport in Longyearbyen.

  1. Or we might say, “The weekend in nose eyes claws and fur”.

Well, we still have the memory of this. But then we still have a kind of memory of these. Different fates we hope.

  2. If global warming continues at the current pace, this may be the only way we get to see polar bears. Good shot, at least the bear posed for you.

  3. A hansome model for you, and rather safer to be close to than the live version. Nice lines and reflections, too.

Thanks, merci, grazie, danke, hvala, gracias, spasibo, shukran, dhanyavaad, salamat, arigato, and muito obrigado for your much-appreciated comments.
