inSPIREd Sunday

The Svalbard Church is in Longyearbyen, on Spitsbergen,
and is the only church in The Svalbard Archipelago
of Norway.  (This wooden church was built in
1958 to replace the former one, which was destroyed
during WWII.)  Its real claim to fame is that at 78+°N latitude,
it is the northernmost church
in the world.

* By the way, this is my 3,000th post (!) *

  1. It’s not exactly a hymn, but...

Three thousand! Now I can quantify, in smiles, the pleasure I have had in stopping by.

  2. One couldn't miss the church in a snow storm - practical colours for the spire given the Norwegian winters.
Congratulations on reaching 3000. A mighty effort and commitment which I would love to emulate. Thank you.

  6. The steeple is an interesting design. And, yes, I think it would stand out against the northern snow!

  7. The red is an unusual choice on the steeple but I like it. It stands out!
