Reflets du Weekend

The food pavilions of Les Halles were dismantled
in 1971 (random fact: one of them was
re-erected in Yokohama, Japan).  But although
the market is no longer, there are still lots of
shops
that cater to cooks–both amateur and
pro—in the area just north of where it once was.

  1. So, the area is still catering to Le Ventre de Paris. Emil Zola might take note.

I didn’t know about the connection to Yokohama but remnants can be seen here. That is Yokohama Marine Tower back there. Here is a view from there: It often takes a little squinting to see things in the far distance.

  2. All that glitters is sometimes copper. Scenes like this make me wish I loved cooking, ma chere ! Beautiful.

  3. E.Dehillerin? I'm not much of a cook but I can still appreciate these beautiful tools of the trade.

  4. Wonderful photo of those shiny copper pots and pans. My sister has a large set of these she bought around 1960. They are near perfect tools.
