Just like new

Last month I showed you a detail of the
back door of this Paris church,
Saint-Paul–Saint-Louis, in the Marais.
And here's the front door.
When I saw this church three years ago,
it was black with
the dirt and pollution of
centuries.
See what a good cleaning
and a bright
red door can do?

  1. Cleaning and painting makes all the difference.

  2. I always thought of Saint Paul’s as “the gloomy, dark church” on that section of the Rue de Rivoli. It is such a treat to be shown by you how luminous it is now, both outside and inside.
