ABC Wednesday—X is for "Railroad Crossing"

(And please keep in mind that this is my 9th
time trying to find an X for ABC Wednesday!)

Where I live, all of the trains are either
below ground or on elevated tracks. Down
here in the Virginia countryside, you get to
wave to the engineer when a train passes
by. (And he'll probably wave back—and
blow the train whistle for you too!)

  1. Great photo for 'X'!
I remember when railroad crossings here in Mississippi were marked with a sign that said, "Stop, Look, and Listen." Now the signs at crossings say "Yield." Its a crazy world.
    Happy ABC Wednesday!

  3. I love that the engineers will blow the whistle for the drivers. We have plenty just like this one.

  4. Yes, X is a tough letter to use for ABCW. Most of us end up "cheating" by using "ex" like moi! lol Great find - you done did good!

  5. Neat sign, there is something about open crossings that is romantic.
You made me count back to how many x I had come up with, and I was amazed to discovered I started in round 4 too.

  6. Perfect find! Just found your blog, coming from Pierre's and noticed that you comment on his posts quite a bit. He's terrific, isn't he? So is Venice. Kate, ABC Team
