The Weekend in Black and White


On a trip to Rome, I made my way up above
Trastevere and came upon a beautiful
old courtyard, seen here through the
doors of an equally ancient chapel.

    So striking in b&w! The mosaic circle pattern at the doorway is interesting. I wonder if it has a particular meaning, or is simply (and beautifully) decorative?
