That's the well-chosen name of this two-tone Darwin hybrid tulip—just one of dozens of tulips in bloom right now at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (aka my 'backyard'.)
It’s good that you caught them early in the season. Much later than this, when the flowers become withered and dry, and you wouldn’t want to bend over to see if they have any fragrance.
