Thursday Challenge—"sunny (#2)"

Taken several years ago (i.e., too many
since I've been here) on a beautiful
sunny summer day in Florence. Sigh.

Weekend Reflections

I've been going up on the Eiffel Tower
for 50 (!) years now, but until my
last visit had never climbed the steps
from the first to the second level—I counted
420 of them, which wouldn't have been bad at all
if it hadn't been 99°F (37°C) at the time.
It was well worth it, however, for
this reflection and for the view:

And since it's my photo and my blog, I've taken
the liberty of removing the hideous Tour Montparnasse
from this otherwise beautiful vista.  So there.

ABC Wednesday—V is for "vista"

I've told people that I live at the highest natural
point in Brooklyn, but it turns out I was lying mistaken.
This is it: Battle Hill, now in Green-Wood Cemetery
but at one time the site of a famous Revolutionary War battle.
The view of lower Manhattan from here is spectacular
(that's the new Trade Tower sticking up above everything else.)

This is there at the site to provide a bit of perspective.
It's changed just a bit in the past 200 years, hasn't it?
