Buon appetito!

Helped a couple of friends celebrate their mutual
birthday here recently.  There really aren't
that many places in NYC that have been in business
for more than 120 years, much less owned and
operated by the same family. I hope this one
continues to be here for many more decades to come.

I managed to resist, but it wasn't easy!

Weekend Reflections

Leaving all this yumminess tomorrow.
{Insert large sigh here.}
Some of these things look pretty hard to resist,
but that fellow passing by the window
didn't give them so much as a glance.
For me, it lends new meaning to the French term
for window shopping: lèche-vitrines (window licking)!

Mellow Yellow Monday

I think you could call these Paris pastries too much of a good thing.
So I turned away and saved my calories for some lovely little
macarons.  Oh, and a fabulous tarte tatin with crème fraiche.
Wait—there was also ice cream from Berthillon.
Hmmm . . . suddenly I'm not feeling so virtuous anymore.
