ABC Wednesday—N is for "narcissus"

The show is just beginning.
In the next month or so, there will
be lots and lots of these, plus tulips, lilacs,
hyacinths . . . and the flowering
trees have already begun to burst into bloom.
Don't you love spring?

Daffodil Hill

That's the aptly named part of the
Brooklyn Botanic Garden that's carpeted
for a while every April with hundreds
of these bright yellow blooms.

Cute as a button

Love it when these happy harbingers of spring
pop up all over, and especially these
miniature daffodils that are at least half the
size of the others. These have actually bloomed and
are now gone, but we have lots more to look
forward to in the next few weeks.

A host of golden daffodils

Today's Thursday Photo Challenge is "spring."

I know the season's here for sure when the
daffodils start "spring"ing up everywhere.
These are in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, but
shortly after 9/11, the Netherlands sent a crew
of people here with thousands of bulbs,
which they planted in every green space they could

find, all over the city. They still bloom every spring.
