in the corner

I showed you the exterior of this old church
on Friday.  Here's the interior—
so simple. I love it.

Skywatch Friday

A bright blue sky over the very simple church
of Sainte Radegonde, in Giverney.
Monet and his family are all
buried here, in the little churchyard.

Church of Sainte Radegonde

This little church is in Giverny
(Monet's grave is in the churchyard).
I'd never heard of this saint (aka Radegund),
who was a 6th-century queen of the Franks.
And I'm not sure what she did to
warrant sainthood—other than leave her
husband and found a monastery (and

she got him to pay for it). Actually, I don't
know about sainthood, but that probably
deserves some kind of prize.
