Skywatch / Reflections

I spent the New Year weekend down in
Virginia.  When I flew home a
couple of days ago, bad weather around the
country meant that my 2 p.m. flight
finally took off after 5.  On the other hand,
the late-afternoon light gave me
this subtle sunset and cloudy reflection.

Bon Voyage

Am off tomorrow to one comfortably familiar
place, where I'll catch up with some old pals—and to
one exotic new locale to make some new friends.
I may be a bit "off the grid," but I've scheduled my

posts and hope you'll still come by while I'm away.

Skywatch Friday

I'm getting on a plane tonight and
heading east—for 7 days of fun
and photography with a couple of
my fave blogpals.  I've scheduled posts
for the week ahead and will try to keep

up a bit with my iPad.  Hope you'll
stop by while I'm gone.

Weekend Reflections

I usually post to this meme from my other blog, but
Blogger has been a little wonky the past few days.  I was
flying across the country recently and turned away
from snapping shots of the Rockies to see this.
Reflections are almost as big an obsession as shadows!

Skywatch Friday

The sky's IN this photo, but I took it FROM the
sky too.  (Yes, I'm afraid I took a couple of photos when
I wasn't exactly supposed to.)  That's New
Jersey, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Staten
Island on the right, and Manhattan, Brooklyn,
Governor's Island on the left—and right up the middle, the
Hudson River, where Capt. Sullenberger
brought his plane down safely a year ago today.
