My daughter Lila (this is her picture)
and I stepped into the church of the Madeleine
to look around for a minute—and found
a concert of beautiful choral music going on.
Sometimes you just get lucky.

I just love the soft light of these candles burning in the
church of La Madeleine—and knowing that each one
represents someone's good wishes and positive
thoughts (like mine for my father and grandmother,
the people I think of when I light a candle).
