Another memory

Not long after Sept. 11, these tiles showed
up on a fence in Greenwich Village.
The fence is no longer there and I'm not
sure what happened to the tiles,
but I hope they've been kept safe somewhere
(maybe they're in the 9/11 museum).

Skywatch Friday

Fourteen years later, the memorial garden now 
fills the space where the twin towers stood 
and the new 1 World Trade stands guard over it. 
The winged structure in the foreground is the 
World Trade Center Transportation Hub
(or as some call it, a $4 billion subway station).

Thursday Challenge—"garden"

Set within the memorial garden is the moving
tribute to those who perished here 
13 years ago.  Before cutting the names into the
black stone, they made sure that those of family members,
coworkers, and friends would be near each other.

Thursday Challenge—"reflections"

I took this shot a couple of weeks ago of
the brand new (and highly reflective)
4 World Trade—right now, this building 
probably has the best view looking down 
on the newly opened 9/11 Memorial.
