Ruby Tuesday

This fire truck was riding the ferry from the
North Fork of Long Island to Shelter Island.
We were all—fire truck too—headed to a big
beach party for charity. May be hard to tell here,
but the nice firefighter was actually very
engaged with this little boy and his parents.

Blue Monday

I've been to the city depicted on this luggage
many times, but my suitcase was never
this much fun—maybe next time!
(Well, maybe not, but I'm glad that you can finally
find lots of practical and interesting luggage.)

Shadow Shot Sunday

When I book a flight down to Virginia,
I always try to choose a seat on the port side
of the plane, in the hope that our flight
pattern will provide a view like this. 
Last time, I got all that and more—
some looong early-morning shadows!

I swear, I don't know how she does this!

As soon as I cross the street, I'll be
 at work—so I'm going to enjoy
this pretty NYC sky while I can!

Thursday Challenge: "modern"

This is the Hearst Tower, where I used
to work. They got around the landmark status
of their original 1928 Art Deco building
by leaving the façade and constructing the
ultra-modern glass-and-steel structure inside it.

ABC Wednesday—D is for "doorknobs"

There's a shop I love down in Virginia.
Mostly they sell beautiful clothes (and shoes
and jewelry)—but I also found these glass
doorknobs there.  Made me want to replace
every boring doorknob in my house.
