New York Then and Now

It's the graceful 40-story Municipal Bldg.,

right by the Brooklyn Bridge. The older

photo was taken in 1904, during its construction. 

Unfortunately, the Verizon building now obscures the

view of this one when you're crossing

from Brooklyn to Manhattan. Oh well.

Downtown Manhattan—seen from 

the (vehicle) approach to the 

Brooklyn Bridge, here's a shadow 

cast by one of my fave NYC landmarks: 

the Municipal Building.

Municipal Bldg.

I love the top of this building
(clearly visible from the Manhattan
side of the Brooklyn Bridge).
It's down near City Hall (and across
the street from the criminal court,
where I once spent a huge chunk of
time on the jury of a major murder trial).
